MCP-first Works with Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP client

Run your chat from your AI agent.

Embedded Chat is an MCP server. Connect it once and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code can install the chat, match it to your site, answer your visitors and keep the rooms clean — and it asks you before anything your visitors would see.

Server URL https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/
Connect in a minute

Pick your AI app.

You sign in to Embedded Chat once and click Allow. No keys to copy, and you can disconnect any app from your panel.

Claude

claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Embedded Chat and paste the server URL: https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/
  3. Click Add, then Connect.
  4. Sign in to Embedded Chat and click Allow.

Connectors you add on the web or in Claude Desktop also show up in the mobile apps. On a Team or Enterprise plan an owner may need to add it first, under the organization's connector settings.

Claude Code

In your terminal

  1. Add the server:
terminal
claude mcp add --transport http embedded-chat https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/
  1. In Claude Code, run /mcp, pick embedded-chat and choose Authenticate.
  2. Your browser opens: sign in to Embedded Chat and click Allow.

ChatGPT

On the web, with developer mode

  1. Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
  2. Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create.
  3. Name it Embedded Chat, paste the MCP server URL https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/ and choose OAuth for authentication.
  4. Click Create, sign in to Embedded Chat and click Allow.

Developer mode is available on the plans that allow custom connectors; a workspace admin may need to enable it.

Cursor

Settings → MCP, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json

  1. Add the server to mcp.json (or Add custom MCP in Cursor's MCP settings):
~/.cursor/mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "embedded-chat": {
      "url": "https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/"
    }
  }
}
  1. Cursor shows Needs login next to it: click it, sign in and click Allow.

VS Code

GitHub Copilot agent mode

  1. Run MCP: Add Server from the command palette, or add it to .vscode/mcp.json:
.vscode/mcp.json
{
  "servers": {
    "embedded-chat": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/"
    }
  }
}
  1. Start the server; VS Code asks to sign in. Sign in to Embedded Chat and click Allow.

Any MCP client

Windsurf, Codex, Zed, your own agent…

  1. Add a remote server with the URL https://www.embedded-chat.com/mcp/ (Streamable HTTP).
  2. If the client supports OAuth, it registers itself and opens our sign-in page: sign in and click Allow.
  3. If it only takes a header, create a token (below) and send it as Authorization: Bearer <token>.

Tokens: in your panel, open Integrations → AI agents (MCP) and click Create token. It is shown once; keep it like a password. Up to 20 per account.

What your agent can do

Everything you do in the panel.

55 tools, straight from the server: 20 that only read and 35 that change something. Changes go through the same checks as the dashboard, so your plan's limits always apply.

Reads runs without asking Asks first shows a preview, acts after you approve Changes your AI app asks before running it Gives you a link you finish it yourself

Safe by design

You stay in charge.

An agent works with your permission, inside the same rules as the dashboard, and you can cut it off at any time.

Reads and changes are separate

Reading runs right away. Every tool that changes something is marked as such, so Claude, ChatGPT and the rest ask you before running it.

Preview, then confirm

Anything your visitors would see (messages, pins, bans, polls) and anything that deletes answers first with a preview of exactly what would happen. It only happens after you say yes.

No agent moves money

No tool charges your card, refunds or pays out. A plan change comes back as a link you open and approve yourself; card details and the payout account for tips stay in your panel.

Owner only, your chat only

A connection acts as the account owner on your own chat, never on anyone else's. Teammates can't connect apps. Up to 120 calls a minute per account.

Revoke any time

Your panel lists every connected app and token under Integrations → AI agents (MCP); revoke one there. Changing your password revokes them all. An app's access lasts an hour at a time and renews by itself; a connection left unused for 90 days expires.

What data flows where

What your agent reads (messages, visitor names, settings) goes to the AI app you connected, under that app's terms. We never see your conversation with the AI. Details in our privacy policy.
